USABO winter boot camp

SpringLight is a WASC accredited education organization. We have successfully provided the USABO training for more than five years. 30% to 60% of our students have qualified for the semi-final each year. Every year one of our students qualified as a finalist (national top 20).

The next USABO Open exam will be from Feb. 5 to 15, 2019
Semifinal Exam will be from March 18 to 22, 2019.

10:00am-12:00pm, students do previous years' test (2003 to 2016 real test, open and semifinal multipal choice problems.).

Course Description

Each 5-hour course will cover 2 of the main topics that will be covered in the USABO open exam. Topics will be distributed according to their weight on the exam, so some topics will appear in more lessons than others. Lessons will emphasize working and explaining questions from past exams, but will also include teaching and reinforcing important concepts using the AP Biology book, materials from Stanford biology courses, and other resources.

Instructor

Jack Takahashi is a first year medical student at the UCLA School of Medicine. He previously studied Biology at Stanford University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He has experience in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Physiology, Anatomy, Ecology & Evolution, Plant Biology, Organic chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biostatistics. Jack has taught the USABO camp for 2 years in 2015 and 2016 and also has experience tutoring students in AP Biology, physics, and chemistry. Jack loves explaining scientific concepts to others and loves to teach.
30% to 50% of SpringLight's USABO students had qualified for the USABO semifinal. Every year we have one student qualified as finalist (national top 20).
