Intro to Computer and Network Security ?

Course Description

Cyber security is quickly becoming one of the most important sectors in technology today and adds an impressive component to any technical resume or portfolio.

This course will introduce students to the required skills necessary to pursue Cyber Security competitions such as the National Cyber League: students are encouraged to join our CyberSecurity competition team.

We will also provide students with assistance organizing Cyber Security clubs on their own school campus.

Students will be given an introduction to the fundamental tools, information, and methodology needed to perform basic digital security operations.

Ages: 7th Grade - 12th Grade

No programming experience is required.

10 hr Total, 2 hr Sessions

Day 1. IT Networking Basics

Day 2. Network Auditing with Nmap

Day 3. BASH Bootcamp

Day 4. Vulnerability Scanning in Kali

Day 5. Final Project Presentations

    1. Present Findings of Home Computer Network Vulnerability Scans
    2. Review Actions Taken to Resolve Simplest Issues (Low-Hanging Fruit)
