Course Overview
The AP Psychology course introduces students to the systematic and scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. While considering the psychologists and studies that have shaped the field, students explore and apply psychological theories, key concepts, and phenomena associated with such topics as the biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, learning and cognition, motivation, developmental psychology, testing and individual differences, treatments of psychological disorders, and social psychology.
Throughout the course, students employ psychological research methods, including ethical
considerations, as they use the scientific method, evaluate claims and evidence, and
effectively communicate ideas.

AP Psychology Exam
The AP Psychology exam has two parts: a multiple-choice section and a free-response section. You will have two hours to complete the exam. The multiple-choice portion of the exam contains 100 five-choice question and you will have seventy minutes to complete this section. The score for the multiple-choice section is based on the number of questions answered correctly. No points are deducted for questions answered incorrectly or left blank. The free-response section of the test consists of two questions and you have to answer them both in fifty minutes. Your score (ranging from 1-5) on the exam will take into account your performance on both the multiple-choice and free-response sections, with the multiple-choice section counting for twice as much.
